Experience And Qualifications
Associate degree preferred , 45 college credits, or must pass the Master Teacher Test
Must be bilingual and/or multilingual (written/oral) (Spanish and/or Haitian Creole preferred)
Strong written and oral communications skills in both Spanish and/or Haitian Creole and English
Ability to support students in a classroom setting with content delivery.
Ability to interact with others in a manner that demonstrates professionalism, respect, and dignity.
Act 34 Clearance, Act 151 Clearance, FBI Clearance (self-paid)
Act 126 & Act 71 Training Certificates

Primarv Duties And Responsibilities
Assist teachers in the classroom by carrying out duties assigned by the EL Teachers and/or Regular Education Teachers as it relates to ELs.
Reinforce concepts and skills introduced by the classroom teacher.
Provide small group instructional support to English Learners.
Assist teachers with small and large group activities in the classroom.
Supports the teacher in preparing material for the class which include making booklets, finding facts on the internet, and finding web sites for students to continue their projects.
Support the administration of WIDA ACCESS for English learners.
Accompany teachers or administrators on field trips approved by the Supervisor of ELD.
Record classroom attendance and follow up on absence notes as needed.
Notify the teacher and supervisor in advance of an absence.
Support with interpretation and translation (if needed) during parent teacher conferences through the district in person or virtual as directed by the Supervisor of ELD.
Support with the PSSA/Keystone as language interpreter as directed by the Building administrator.
Adhere to the contractual school schedule (arrival, dismissal, etc)
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of ELD or Building Administrator.
