Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Korean Medical Interpreter. The interpreter will provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation between Korean and English during medical appointments, consultations, and customer service interactions conducted via phone or online platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting medical information in real time, ensuring clarity and understanding for patients and healthcare professionals, and maintaining strict confidentiality of all health-related information. The role also involves translating short medical documents or instructions as needed, adhering to medical and organizational protocols, and collaborating with call center staff and healthcare teams to support a positive patient experience. The Korean Medical Interpreter is expected to manage scheduled calls, respond to incoming interpretation requests, and maintain consistent professional conduct in a virtual environment.
Qualifications
Strong Medical Interpretation skills, including experience in healthcare settings and patient-facing communication.
Proficiency in Interpreting and Simultaneous Interpretation between Korean and English.
Knowledge of medical terminology in both Korean and English, with the ability to explain complex terms clearly.
Experience with Translation of short medical documents, instructions, and patient information.
Native or near-native fluency in Korean and excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access, a quiet workspace, and familiarity with virtual call center tools.
Strong active listening skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality (HIPAA or similar standards preferred).
Prior experience in medical interpreting, customer service, or call center environments is highly beneficial.
Relevant certification in medical interpreting or language services is a plus.
