Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Spanish to English Interpreter. The interpreter will provide high-quality real-time interpretation over phone or video calls, accurately conveying meaning, tone, and context between Spanish-speaking and English-speaking parties. Daily tasks include performing consecutive and, when needed, simultaneous interpretation for medical, legal, and customer support interactions, following client-specific protocols and confidentiality standards. The interpreter will review relevant terminology, maintain up-to-date glossaries, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve language or cultural nuances. The role also involves documenting session details as required, adhering to compliance guidelines, and participating in periodic training to maintain and improve language and interpretation skills. Qualifications Strong skills in Interpreting and Language Services, with the ability to accurately convey messages between Spanish and English. Experience in Medical Interpretation, including familiarity with medical terminology and patient communication protocols. Ability to perform Simultaneous Interpretation when required, maintaining clarity and accuracy under time pressure. Competence in Translation for short written communications or reference materials supporting live interpreting work. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension abilities. Prior experience in remote or call-center interpreting environments, especially in healthcare, legal, or customer service settings. Knowledge of confidentiality, data protection, and ethical standards related to language services. Reliable high-speed internet connection, a quiet and professional workspace, and comfort using online communication platforms. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging conversations. Relevant certification in interpreting or language services, or equivalent professional experience; a background in linguistics, translation, or related fields is beneficial.
