To support our continued growth in North America, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Localization Engineer (m/f/d) to drive localization and manufacturing initiatives across the region.
In this exciting role, you will work closely with international engineering teams, North American suppliers, and manufacturing partners to localize spare parts and components for North American production. You will play a key role in ensuring quality, availability, and cost efficiency while maintaining fit, form, and function of localized products.
Based at our North Houston office, you will collaborate with colleagues across North America and Europe. Occasional travel throughout North America and Europe is part of this position.
Your Responsibilities:
Spare Parts Localization
Analyze spare parts demand and identify high-potential localization opportunities
Evaluate components for North American manufacturing feasibility
Develop RFQ packages and support supplier quotation activities
Coordinate localization projects from engineering evaluation through supplier qualification and final inspection
Maintain localization KPIs, reports, and project documentation
Engineering & Product Adaptation
Convert German ISO-based designs into North American manufacturing standards
Redesign and optimize components for local manufacturing
Create and maintain 3D models and production drawings using SolidWorks
Identify suitable North American material and hardware equivalents
Collaborate closely with engineering teams in Europe to resolve technical challenges
Quality Assurance
Perform incoming inspections of localized components
Investigate and resolve quality and dimensional issues
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Your Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Strong understanding of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T
Knowledge of North American (ASTM/ANSI) and European (ISO/DIN/EN) engineering standards
Experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, ideally SAP
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in international teams
Willingness to travel throughout North America and occasionally internationally
Valid driver's license and passport
German and/or Spanish language skills are a plus but not required

This is a salaried, non-exempt position starting at $80,000+, depending on qualifications and experience.
