Job description
About the job Help doctors and patients understand each other, from home. Expansion International is building a team of 80 video medical interpreters in Brazil for a leading US healthcare language services provider. It’s a full-time, permanent role, and you don’t need interpreting experience: we train you, paid, before your first live session. What you’ll do Interpret live video calls between English-speaking healthcare providers and Portuguese-speaking patients, with the occasional phone call. Carry every message across accurately and completely, without adding, leaving out or changing anything. Stay calm, neutral and confidential, including in sensitive or emotional conversations. What we offer Full-time and permanent, employed through our employer of record in Brazil, with benefits under Brazilian law. 100% remote. We ship everything you need: computer, webcam, monitor, headset, keyboard, mouse and backdrop. A shift that fits your life. Shifts run across the day, evening, night and weekends. Tell us when you can work and we’ll match you to a fixed shift: no rotating schedules. Night hours paid 20% more, as Brazilian law requires. Paid training before you start, plus ongoing coaching. Paid time off and Brazilian public holidays. Meaningful work and a real path into a specialist profession. What you need Speak Portuguese and English fluently. A customer-service mindset: you listen well, explain clearly and keep your cool. A private room with a door that locks, used only for work, with nobody else in the room during your shift. Wired internet (fiber or cable over an Ethernet cable). Wi-Fi, mobile hotspots, satellite and DSL don’t work for this role. Comfortable being on camera for most of your shift. Available to work full-time hours aligned with US Eastern Time. Located in Brazil. Nice to have Experience in customer service, call centers, healthcare, translation or interpreting. Some medical vocabulary in English and Portuguese. An interpreter certification such as CCHI or NBCMI. How the process works Apply and answer a few short questions. Video interview with a recruiter (about 30 minutes). A short second interview in English (15 minutes). A recorded language assessment in English and Portuguese. A final interview with our client (about 1 hour). Then: your offer, your equipment, paid training and your first day. Ready to put your languages to work? Apply today.
